     Chronic pain can feel overwhelming, but understanding its root cause is the first step toward lasting relief. While pain is a natural part of the human experience, not all pain stems from a physical injury. In many cases, it’s the brain’s response to perceived danger—a signal that it doesn’t feel safe. At Pain Free Pathways, we explore the Mindbody connection to help you uncover the true source of your pain and guide you in retraining your brain to feel safe, calm, and pain-free. 

    My Story

    I suffered migraines/headaches/neck pain for over 15 years.  It was during the time I was a mum to 3 young children and the pain would last for 48 hours and would hit around twice a week.  I tried physio, massage, naturopathy, chiropractic, yoga, reiki, bowen therapy, osteopathy, acupuncture, network spinal analysis, cranial-sacral therapy & botox - most with varying degrees of success but nothing longstanding.  All my scans came out as normal and I was told the usual thing - "you need to relax more and find time for yourself" or even scarier "We don't really know what causes migraines, but we have a variety of medications you can try to attempt to manage them".    


    One day as I was suffering through another migraine that tended to fall on a weekend (yet again), I was looking for a meditation to listen to help me relax when I came across a short interview of a doctor about incorporating Mindbody beliefs into her practice.  The doctor described her method saying "I discuss with my patients the possibility that their brain is on ultra high alert more than it should be and therefore processes non-structural issues as pain. It is like a smoke alarm - sometimes it goes off when there is nothing wrong".


    Hearing this, made me cry!  It resonated so strongly with me that I had to know more.  The company doing the interview was Curable Health and they had an app that could help you heal from chronic pain.  I downloaded it straight away and got stuck into it.  It changed my life!


    Through journalling, education on the science of pain, brain retraining exercises and meditations, I learnt why my brain was on hyper alert and what emotions, belief systems and thought processes were triggering it.  The only thing I was missing was someone to discuss things with throughout the process - healing is not lineal - it was often 3 steps forward and 2 back and sometimes 2 forward and 3 back.  I had over 50 years of old beliefs I had to retrain myself out of and not many of my friends or family understood what I was doing.  


    This is what has led me to creating Pain Free Pathways!  I want to be that person to educate and support people through the healing journey.  I want to empower people to take back ownership of their health and heal themselves.  For too long, we have handed over our health to others and expect them to fix it but often they can't - especially when every test and scan tell you there is nothing wrong.  Or maybe, they will tell you a diagnosis but that there is no cure - you just have to learn to live with the pain.  


    Not all pain is Mindbody but if you think yours might be, please reach out and make an appointment with me.  Your body is not broken, and neither is it all in your head!  Your pain is real and although it is showing up in your body, the answer is in your brain.  Pain is just your brain's opinion - let me show you how to acknowledge the causes, to retrain your brain to feel safe and to transform your life to one of joy!  Pain has sucked for too long - lets end it here!!

    What is a Discovery Session?


    Mindbody Syndrome is a relatively new way of treating chronic pain (although Dr John Sarno first identified the link between the emotional stresses and physical pain back in the 1980's in America) however it is not well known here in Australia.


    I want to offer you a FREE, OBLIGATION FREE Discovery Session to learn about this new way of treatment.  I will explain the brain science, share with you studies that show how you can have structural abnormalities without pain and no structural abnormalities with pain, the tools I use to determine if your pain is Mindbody, what conditions are typical Mindbody, what the healing journey looks like, my role in your healing and even more importantly, your role and I will answer your questions!


    Then I will leave it up to you to decide if this form of healing may work for you.  I will not make you commit to a certain amount of sessions (I won't even make you commit to 1 session).  This session is to simply help you discover that there may be another way to heal your pain that you have not aware of. 


    Feel free to bring your partner, friend, parent, child along with you.  Sometimes it's good to have an extra set of ears to take in new information.  If you have a group of friends, or mums that you think may benefit from hearing about this, everyone is welcome.  I believe that mothers represent one of the largest demographics affected by chronic pain.
